Big Sur Race Report: Part 1
Everything I heard about Big Sur was true. It’s beautiful, brutal, windy, tough, magnificent, steep, gorgeous, fun, surreal, and best of all, it’s behind me. The day began early. We had to catch the shuttle bus to the start line … Continue reading

To race or not to race
…that is the question. Over there in the right column is a link to a half marathon I’m doing Sunday, the Shamrock’n Half Marathon. It really snuck up on me – could it already be mid-March? I’ve got sort of a non-history with this … Continue reading
If at first you don’t succeed
The fourth time is a charm. This is the fourth time I’ve tried to be a runner and this time it stuck. This has been the longest consecutive period of consistent voluntary exercise in my life. I started running in … Continue reading
Between the raindrops
I think I understand (a little) what it’s like to live in Seattle. Or Portland. We’re finally getting some rain in our dry valley and it’s wonderful! And sometimes not. During the Amgen bike race this weekend, we watched world class … Continue reading
